At first I wasn't sure if the problem was the filter, my kids had noticed dark or white stuff floating in their water. I initially noticed the weird taste of metal. I tried the second filter and no improvements at all. I recently purchased the filter recommended by the refrigerator manufacturer, LG LSC27910ST and the taste of the water significantly improved as well as the clarity. We no longer have stuff floating in our water. Seems to me either these filters are not compatible, even though they claim to be, or they are just plain old inferior.
